Our Ethos
To change and improve the way we work and create healthy, rewarding and productive working environments that benefit both organisations and people alike. By helping organisations the Foundation will help the many individuals associated with them.
We know that a healthy workforce results in a positive and successful organisation. Our collective experience and the evidence that now exists, clearly demonstrate that organisations obtain many benefits from implementing effective wellbeing and people management strategies.
We believe the pain of destructive workplaces and damaged lives can be avoided. We know that the initial capital and time invested in appropriate Wellbeing and People Management strategies can be recouped many times over.
In addition, there are growing Wellbeing issues, such as absenteeism and work related stress, which are huge burdens on employers and society alike. With people working longer hours, under increasing pressures and rising instances of work-related stress and injuries, it has never been more important to create the right environment and culture in our place of work.
Poor attitudes and dysfunctional relationships at work have negative impacts on organisations, productivity, employee wellbeing, and society as a whole.
We believe that there is an urgent need for organisations to advocate real Wellbeing at work and deliver best practice from multiple areas of related expertise including Health & Safety, Human Resources and Occupational Health – all of which are essential elements of effective People Management. Our approach will result in rewarding, productive and supportive working environments. The Foundation seeks to create healthier workplaces, which in turn delivers real improvements, savings and success for employers, individuals and society. To achieve this, we will ensure that support goes to those who need it most.
The Foundation aims to support companies by reducing the time, money and resources wasted on employing unsuitable people, managing difficult staff or replacing those who are absent from work. We also intend to work with those whose lives have been negatively impacted due to absenteeism, injuries, and illness. Our approach will reduce the demands made on the NHS, the welfare state and society; thus ensuring valuable resources go to those who need them most. We realise that by helping just one employer, we can help many employees.
We believe that all well-meaning employers, organisations and individuals should agree to the need for a world where as many people as possible are willing and able to work and are committed to working as productively as possible. We believe that simply accepting the current problems, doing nothing, or failing to embrace the need for change, is not an option.
